How to Create a NicerWorld in 1000 SKUs or More

Richard and Hannah Jones were living in Australia dreaming up NicerWorld, a website for selling sustainable and ethical products, when they dreamed up a new lifestyle, too.

Last year the couple packed up and moved to Marin. Shortly afterward, they opened up their first bricks-and-mortar store, a pop-up shop at Bon Air Center in Greenbrae.

This month, however, NicerWorld has put down roots at The Village in Corte Madera, where its more than 1000 SKUs of luxe and unexpected items have been sourced from North and South America, France and Spain.

But the Jones and shoppers at NicerWorld aren’t the only ones benefitting from a wonderful purchase.  A percentage of each sale goes to a charity, either NicerWorld's charity-of-the-week or the shopper's charity of choice.

Left: Suzani sofas, chairs and ottomans, crafted in Brazil with fabric fashioned from old wedding gowns from Uzbekistan ($150 to $1800) Center: WOO beeswax candles in recycled jars ($25 or $38) Right: Sail bags, constructed of former racing or cruising sails from European seas ($99 to $199)
