What Happens at Eat Drink in SF? Here's a Lowdown, Marin Magazine

I’m going to share a secret with you, are you ready? The most popular stories in our magazine are not the investigative pieces we plan and work on for months, or the human interest community pieces either. Nope, it’s all the stuff about food. Yep, food. Drinks, too, actually. But maybe that comes as no surprise. After all, these are the things we literally need to live and as much as we consume them, they consume us.

Daily, we’re bombarded with stylized images of cronuts, acai bowls, macarons, pizza, sushi, bacon-wrapped things on all of our social media feeds, tv, and on magazine covers at grocery store checkouts — ahem. So it’s no wonder that people flock to food festivals and starting Friday, one of the biggest ones in the Bay Area is kicking off.

More than 150 restaurants, 70 bars, distilleries, breweries and wineries will be offering bites and pouring drinks throughout the weekend at Eat Drink SF. Eat Drink SF, now in its tenth year, brings together renown tastemakers like Dominique Crenn of Atelier, Petit and Bar fame, Roland Passot of La Folie among others to share the very best in food and drink alongside curated experiences.

In celebration of ten years strong there is also a special set programming that includes a spirits store by Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant for guests to purchase bottles they’ve sampled at the festival and (get this) a Willy Wonka-inspired Golden Ticket Giveaway at specially selected restaurants in the Bay — follow @EatDrinkSF on Instagram for more details.

Of course, it wouldn't be a true Bay Area fete without a touch of tech, so RFID technology-enabled wristbands will be getting some play and helping festival-goers to check-in at restaurant booths to map everything they’ve eaten. No other food festival puts as many things under one roof and still gives you room to breathe, and your ticket includes everything. Experience the deliciousness for yourself this weekend.
