31st Annual Art of the Americas in Marin

The Marin Show: Art of the Americas is in its 31st year, bringing together top dealers, artists and collectors of antique American Indian, pre-Columbian, Spanish Colonial, contemporary American Indian and Latin American art.

The art show will take place on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22, with a special preview event Friday evening, February 20 benefiting Homeward Bound of Marin. The exhibition will host over 150 dealers and artists selling jewelry, textiles, pottery, photography, paintings, beadwork, books, sculpture and more.

The featured symposium on Saturday and Sunday is titled “Yesterday and Today” and is produced by the California Indian Basketweavers’ Association (CIBA) in association with the California Academy of Sciences. The seminar will feature experts exploring how to recognize the characteristics of a California Indian basket; its possible origin, its materials and the techniques used to reconnect the artist with the art. The symposium cost is in addition to admission price, and includes lunch with the presenters.
