Philip Glass at Davies Symphony Hall

Philip Glass: The Études will showcase 20 original études that were written for solo piano. It took Glass, who has been hailed as America’s greatest living composer, twenty years to write the études. The musical biography should provide a glimpse into his broad musical mind and talent. In addition to composing music, Glass has written operas, symphonies, concertos, chamber music and film scores, three of which have been nominated for Academy Awards.

Glass will be joined by composer and pianist Timo Andres and soloist and chamber musician Maki Namekawa for this performance.
