Von Trapps Bring the Past to Present at San Francisco's The Chapel

the vontrapp family

The classic film The Sound of Music captured the story of the von Trapp family, who fled Austria during WWII and moved to the U.S. The Von Trapp family went on to have a successful musical career, touring around the world for two decades. The great-grandchildren of the Captain and Maria von Trapp take the stage to continue to family singing tradition here in San Francisco at The Chapel.

The Von Trapp group, which include Sofi, Melanie, Amanda and August, will most likely perform sans lederhosen. According to August’s recent interview, “…despite a very sentimental attachment to the past, I look forward to a future of more modern attire.” However they dress, this is sure to be a special show.
