From East to West at Zener Schon Gallery

The opening reception at Zener Schon Contemporary Art in Mill Valley for its newest exhibition boasts an impressive roster of artists that you’d be hard pressed to find in one place any other time. The eight participants in From East to West: A Bi-Coastal Dialogue include professional skater Chad Muska, rocker and style icon Alison Mosshart and New York painter and current Barbara Bush (Junior) beau Miky Fabrega. Celebrity status aside, the exhibition should leave you with lots to examine and ponder. The mixed media art that’ll be displayed covers a broad scope of relevant societal issues like our relationship with technology, how we shape our identities, and “The Survival of the Fittest” experience.

You’ll have until May 17th to view the art if you’re unable to attend the reception, or if you prefer to take things in at a slower pace.

The San Francisco State University creative writing graduate went on to write for publications like the San Francisco Bay Guardian and KQED Arts among others prior to joining the Marin Magazine staff.
