Slow Down Aboard the Tahoe Gal

Jerry Harding

One hundred guests will gather for The Tahoe City Downtown Association’s tenth anniversary gala on Lake Tahoe on June 4.

Expect live music by classical guitarist Lucas Arizu and cabaret-style vocals by Kendal Naughton (yes, she is the daughter of “American Werewolf in London” David Naughton), light appetizers and a cash bar. The Tahoe Gal will depart from the pier behind the Lighthouse Center at 6 and return at 8 p.m. Tickets, $30 per person, are available online.

If you make it up for the night, find me, mention this blog post and I’ll buy you a beer!

Another reason to visit is the walk ability of town: The best things about Tahoe City include the good restaurants –– River Grill, Zia Lina, Wolfdale’s and Uncommon Kitchen, to name a few –– independent shops, Commons Beach and accessible hiking and biking paths. Choose a place to stay and leave the car parked.

“Spending one day, one week or even a lifetime in Tahoe City is magical and we want visitors, second home owners and residents to feel that magic,” shares Gary Davis, President of the TCDA Board of Directors. “Our party on the Tahoe Gal and upcoming summer events are really worth the trip, but, more than that, every single day in Tahoe City offers something worthwhile.” For more information, visit VisitTahoeCity.com or call (530) 583-3348.
