Join us for this special (free!) event featuring a diverse panel of Bay Area writers and agents of change. The panel will be tackling this vital topic in context of the current political climate, and will then take a look at what lies ahead. The moderator is journalist and Book Passage host Paula Farmer. Free event!

  • Brian Copeland- Award-winning actor, comedian, author, playwright, TV and radio talk show host. His memoir is Not a Genuine Black Man: My Life as an Outlaw.
  • Julie Lythcott-Haims- N.Y. Times bestselling author of How to Raise an Adult. Her acclaimed memoir Real American examines her experiences as a Black and biracial person.
  • R.O. Kwon- Burst on the literary scene last year with her engrossing novel The Incendiaries. It was an ABA Indie Next “Great Read”. Born in South Korea, she lives in the U.S.
  • Ingrid Rojas Contreras- Her 2018 debut novel Fruit of the Drunken Tree was an Indie Next selection and a N.Y. Times editor’s choice. She is a native of Bogota, Colombia.
