A Fair to Remember

31 This year’s 66th annual Marin County Fair celebrated the 75th anniversary of the Golden Gate Bridge, but we decided to celebrate the fair itself. Every Fourth of July weekend for the past six and a half decades, Marin residents and beyond have gussied up to rub elbows with the rest of the community and enjoy the tradition of music, festive contests (such as the best cheesecake in the county competition), classic carnival rides and way above average live music. We’re not the only ones who think it’s tops. Just last year the Western Fair Association awarded our county fair with multiple awards for its “Going Global” theme, which the association noted “created ground-breaking practices and fair program ideas.” And just to be fair, we couldn’t agree more. marinfair.org
