Ottimista Enoteca-Cafe is a restaurant and wine bar that brings the Italian enoteca tradition to San Francisco's Cow Hollow neighborhood. The casual, rustic venue gets its name from the Italian translation for Optimist, because we believe that when it comes to good wine, one's glass should always be at least half-full. The restaurant features a seasonal menu of Italian-inspired small bites and larger plates, such as arancini, bruschette, polenta fries and Soave-braised pork. The popular weekend brunch features breakfast favorites with an Italian twist, like egg/pancetta panino, olive-oil fried eggs over soft polenta, fresh ricotta donuts and bottomless mimosas. The wine bar offers a rotating menu of 35-40 wines by the glass and quartino, regional flights, and 250 wines by the bottle. The wine list is 80percent Italian, with well-priced bottles from up and down the boot, and great, small production wines from California and Oregon rounding out the list.
