SAN RAFAEL
This year San Rafael is celebrating 20 years of volunteerism. The city’s volunteer projects have ranged from park trash cleanup and median improvements to graffiti removal. SAUSALITO
Founded and led by Shelby Van Meter, the group known as Sausalito Beautiful is behind many improvements in the community. A “Green Thumb” team of volunteers tackles cleanup and improvement projects on an ongoing basis, and once a year the community is invited to participate in a Beautification Day; this years’ is scheduled for October 15. sausalitobeautiful.org
