Rules and Regulations



Rules and Restrictions

Marin Magazine will select winners from three art medium categories: painting, illustration, or photography. The winning art will be featured on the May 2017 cover.

To qualify as an artist you must fit into one of the following categories:
1. Must reside in Marin Country - OR
2. Must be showing work at a Marin County Art Gallery - OR
3. Art must depict Marin

All participants must be over 21 years of age.
All participants must assure that the art is artist’s original work. Participants must have the right to sell the images and publication of the work.
Work will not infringe upon any other person's copyright or other rights. Participants must have obtained model releases and waivers of rights, which may be necessary. Participants agree to indemnify and hold Marin Magazine harmless in the event of any breach of these representations.
The image(s) will be credited to participants as agreed by the participant and Marin Magazine.
Images will need to conform to design specifications; Marin Magazine will make all efforts to consult artists if adjustments to the image are necessary for the sake of reproduction.
Artist gives ongoing, non-exclusive rights to publish images to Marin Magazine.
Credit to artist will be given for all Marin Magazine uses.

Submission Guidelines

All submissions must either be a painting, illustration or photograph. Submissions must be uploaded via the upload feature below. All submissions must be digital and available in hi-res, 300dpi. The deadline for submissions is March 6, 2017. Entries must be uploaded by midnight, March 6, 2017 to be eligible. Winners will be selected by March 9, 2017. Selected finalists will be contacted by telephone and/or email. Submissions are limited to two per entrant. Each submission requires a separate entry form. When completing the entry form, the participant must provide his/her primary address along with day and evening phone numbers. Selection of contest winners is final and at the sole discretion of Marin Magazine
