With nearly all group and outdoors activities off the table in the wake of the shelter-in-place mandate, countless long-lost pastimes are being unearthed. Across the world, scores of people confined to their homes are dusting off board games and puzzles, opting for decidedly low-tech means of staying occupied and relieving stress. Fortunately, many major art and cultural institutions, as well as brands, are stepping up to the quell the anxieties of the bored and restless. Among those are the MoMa and Manolo Blahnik, who are offering free coloring pages of classic art and classic shoes for eager artists to take advantage of.
One of the magical things about art is that you can either get lost in it, or find yourself. To that end, we thought there’d be no better way to get reacquainted with — or reimagine — some picturesque places close to home. Do you find yourself yearning for the salty air and bay breeze in your hair? There’s a sail boat scene to immerse yourself. Missing your monthly FasTrak bill? Color the Golden Gate Bridge green. It’s all up to you.
