Cocktails and Cake Garden Party for Sausalito Woman's Club Preservation Society

The venerable Sausalito Woman’s Club ladies are hosting two elegant affairs to benefit the club’s Preservation Society whose mission is to preserve their historic Julia Morgan clubhouse.

The first is on Saturday evening, April 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the landmark clubhouse (120 Central Avenue, Sausalito): champagne, cocktails, hand-crafted appetizers and fabulous layer cakes will be offered in conjunction with an engaging and entertaining presentation by renowned architectural historian Karen McNeill, Ph.D. The scholarly Dr. McNeill is considered the leading expert on Julia Morgan and will speak on Julia Morgan: Myths and Truths providing little-known details of Julia Morgan’s private life in Paris and her family. The no-host bar and doors open at 6:15 p.m.

The following day, Sunday, May 1, from 1-6 p.m., the club will host a Garden Party –– “Let’s All Eat Cake” –– which also showcases delicious cakes for tasting, champagne punch and a no host bar. Weather permitting this soiree will be held in the club’s garden as well as the clubhouse. This Sunday salon begs for the best garden party hats and attire.

Both events promise to showcase Sausalito Woman’s Club member’s significant culinary talents and artistry. Both will be feasts for all the senses. And both events are open to the public.

Ticket prices are $65 for the Saturday night cocktail party and presentation (this includes a ticket/entry to the Sunday Garden Party) or $25 for just the Sunday Garden Party (includes 3 cake tastings and a champagne cocktail). Reservations can be made by sending a check to Leslie Hall c/o SWCPS, P.O. Box 2488, Sausalito, CA 94965
