Here's who contributed to the premiere issue of Marin At Home.
MARION BRENNER One Foot in the Tropics. Marion Brenner is a Berkeley photographer whose work has appeared in national and international publications including House & Garden, Garden Design and Martha Stewart Living magazines and The New York Times. She specializes in landscape and garden photography and recently did photography for the book In & Out of Paris: Gardens of Secret Delights. You can also see her photographs in the collections of the Bancroft Library at UC Berkeley, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the Berkeley Art Museum.
PAUL DYER The Reluctant Modernists. Bay Area photographer Paul Dyer’s work has appeared in many publications, including Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and House Beautiful. “I like working with architects and interior designers and a good mix of people who bring me to amazing locations and offer a different set of challenges each time,” he says.
AARON LEITZ Uncommon Pied-à-Terre. Aaron Leitz is a Seattle-based photographer who creates compelling images of architecture and interior design for a growing number of the West Coast’s leading design firms. Some of his past clients include Gensler, Burberry and The New York Times.
DAVID DUNCAN LIVINGSTON San Anselmo Aerie, Dolce Vita in Napa Valley, Comfort Whisperer. A native of the Bay Area, David has been photographing for interior designers, architects, magazines and books for many years, using both natural light and strobe lighting to create compelling images. He was the sole photographer for more than five books of interior design, including San Francisco Style and California Country Style by Chronicle Books.
MATTHEW MILLMAN A Beach House for the Ages. For the past 20 years, Matthew Millman has been photographing architecture and interior design in the western United States. His work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, Dwell, Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, Vogue and more. Millman’s photographs also appear in the recently released book West Coast Modern.
THORINA ROSE Eat, Play, Love. A San Francisco–based artist and educator at California College of the Arts, Thorina Rose applies her expertise to projects such as books, product design, advertising, nonprofit and magazine production. Rose is the author and illustrator of the graphic novel The Heartbreak Diet and was a finalist for the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s SECA award.
LISA BOQUIREN Natural Instincts. Marin-based editor and writer Lisa Boquiren, who was on the steering committee for the American Institute of Architects National Convention, is a design and architecture aficionada who also maintains a marketing consultancy for creative businesses.
CARRIE KIRBY O California! Carrie Kirby’s work on personal finance, business and technology has appeared in San Francisco Magazine, Consumers Digest, the Wise Bread finance blog and many more publications. Her most recent work about her other love, travel, appears in The Best Women’s Travel Writing: Volume 10. She lives in Alameda.
SARAH LYNCH San Anselmo Aerie. Sarah Lynch has been a writer and magazine editor for 15 years, including seven as the editor-in-chief of California Home+Design magazine. She has also authored nine books about interior design and is currently working on The Magical World of Mr. Ken Fulk, about the San Francisco designer.
JENNIFER RAISER Bottled Poetry. Jennifer Raiser is the founder and editor of SFWire.com; she has also written for the San Francisco Chronicle and the Huffington Post. Raiser is treasurer of the Burning Man Project, the nonprofit that runs the annual art festival, and she recently authored Burning Man: Art on Fire.
REED WRIGHT A Beach House for the Ages, Dolce Vita in Napa Valley. Reed Wright is a Bay Area writer whose work has appeared in Western Interiors & Design magazine and other national publications.
