Measure for Measure
890 Belle Avenue
June 29th is “Pay What You Will” 30th Anniversary Opening and Celebration. Enjoy Champagne and desserts at 7 pm, followed by the opening performance of MEASURE FOR MEASURE at 8 pm. Shakespeare’s play explores powerful “ripped from the headline” contemporary issues like the MeToo movement, political hypocrisy, and over incarceration. The landscape of the human heart and social justice collide in the production, staged in a contemporary setting with some scenes set in nearby San Quentin, where Marin Shakespeare Company has taught Shakespeare for sixteen years. Take in Shakespeare under the summer stars (and remember to bring a blanket after sunset as the amphitheatre can be chilly). Venue opens one hour before curtain for picnicking. Beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks are available for purchase at the venue.
