Wall Space: Camille Roy
Mar 24-Aug 30, daylight hours
Created by Rotterdam-based designer Chris Kabel, Wall Space is a sculptural installation that turns Headlands’ building facade into a canvas for commissioned texts. Inspired by historical movie theater marquees, a hidden armature on the side of the building holds metal mesh letters that respond to the changing light, visible to viewers as cast shadows. The letters are reconfigured into a new poem twice a year.
The new piece by Camille Roy is the last in the inaugural set of four commissions curated by Claudia La Rocco (Headlands Artist in Residence 2013). Roy is a San Francisco-based writer and performer of fiction, poetry, and plays.
