Marin Foodie Favorites Not to Miss at Outside Lands

Call us biased but we like to support local. Here is a brief guide to the #MarinEats (and one from Sonoma) featured at SF's Golden Gate Park festivities.

You may have recently read that poke is one of this summer’s trendiest foods and Pacific Catch will be serving up some well-chilled original ahi poke to thrill the crowds at Outside Lands 2019. And because you must, try their sweet potato fries, with fish and chips or without. The famous corn masa-based sandals that gave Larkspur’s El Huarache Loco its name will also be on hand, along with their chilaquiles, tacos and agua frecas.

Pastrami rules the day at Larkspur’s Wise Sons truck. Start off with a pastrami breakfast burrito stuffed with scrambled eggs, crispy fries and melted cheese or try the classic Reuben with Russian dressing and kraut. It all perfectly pairs with one of their big dill pickles, served on a stick, natch.

From the Sebastopol family that keeps Gravenstein apple orchards a thriving part of our North Bay food shed comes The Farmer’s Wife (you know them from the Sunday Civic Center Farmer’s Market). They’ll have their amazing salads and sandwiches, many with just-in Gravensteins sliced right in. Try the albacore tuna and Gravenstein apple melt. (Note: after a devastating flood closed the business this winter, their restaurant in The Barlow has re-opened.)

And for those seeking something sweet (to eat), San Rafael’s Johnny Doughnuts will be bringing its crodough and San Rafael’s Three Twins has enough ice cream to beat any level of heat: Two floats root beer and raspberry limonata, scoops and cups of 14 different flavors including mocha, sea salted caramel and chocolate peanut butter cup, and their famous vanilla bean sandwiches. Additionally, wine from DeLoach Vineyards and cheese from Point Reyes Cheese will also be offered. All you have to figure out is how hungry you are.
