MarinHealth to Acquire Amazing New Robotic Surgery Platform
The next chapter in surgery’s robotic revolution: The da Vinci® Xi.
The da Vinci® surgical robot has proven to be an extraordinary medical breakthrough. Procedures that once required a large open incision can now be performed laparoscopically through several tiny incisions. For patients, this means reduced blood loss, shorter hospital stays, smaller scars, and significantly reduced recovery times.
As an early adapter of robotic-assisted surgery, MarinHealth Medical Center does more than 500 robotic procedures each year, for conditions such as prostate cancer, kidney cancer, uterine fibroid disease, and hernias. The planned upgrade to the new da Vinci® Xi will allow surgical teams to expand into thoracic, bariatric, upper digestive tract, and head and neck procedures.
The da Vinci® Xi offers surgeons an extended range of motion and superior visualization, reducing surgical time and the number of incisions needed to perform certain procedures. Investing in state-of-the-art technology enables MarinHealth to continue leading the way in innovative, patient-centric care.
